La Parrilla
Enter La Parrilla, Lebanon’s first Argentinean restaurant. A place that attracts purists, gourmands and food-lovers, La Parrilla opens seven days a week and really plays the part with a pianist playing tunes as far as diverse as Algerian Joan Baez, Souad Massi and, of course classic tango melodies. He ideal place to sip a glass of Argentinean red or a classic glass of Musart. The décor is cosy and rather impressive with trompe l’oeils on the walls and two dominating chandeliers. The massive wooden furniture adds to the South American ranch feel. With meat flown in regularly from Argentina, this is the place to go to for a good steak. Order a mini pie as a starter (local specialty) with your choice of filling, followed by sirloin (churrasco), strip steak (arrachera) or filet (lomo). For those who are not big on red meat, try the fresh fish or the chimichurri chicken. Finish it all off with pain perdu or the classic fondant au chocolat.
Tucked away in the artsy Gemmayze neighborhood, this might just well be your winter hangout. La Parrilla is located on 66 Saint Maron Street, Gemmayze (opposite Club Social and just before Central).
