Comment: I'm surprised to hear that anyone would give this restaurant an average rating let alone the best in Beirut. That’s a big statement when there are lots of amazing restaurants in Beirut. I’m an international traveller from Australia I’ve dined at some of the best restaurants worldwide and in Beirut, often planning my whole itinerary around food and eating. This food was expensive for the poor quality produced. Not to say that you can’t have a great meal in this price range but this was hardly a meal that any self-respecting cook would produce and call food. We ordered a pasta dish and a beef strips. Let me start by saying that the pasta was not freshly made and used some poor grade supermarket dried pasta. I’m a cook not a chef and even I can make my own pasta at home and would not service this to paying customers. Secondly the mushroom sauce might as well have well been straight out of a can bland no flavour or seasoning and they could’ve at least used mushrooms with flavour such as slippery jacks, Swiss brown, shiitake mushrooms or even Portobello not bland button mushrooms . The beef strips must’ve been thrown in a small bunch in a pan so they hadn’t separated. They were still stuck together and half of them raw and parts were overcooked. Lazy chef in my opinion this was not a hard dish to produce. This was amateur food that even a home cook would produce to a higher standard. This was Fusion or more like confusion cuisine. Only to be matched by grumpy rude waiter and dreadful service don’t bother going there if you consider yourself a foodie. A big fat FAIL.
I would recommend Couqley, Chez Jean-Claude or the newly opened Roomers, Centrale and for a truly great and unique experience try Tawlet for lunch or brunch. Excellent organic produce changing food and menu in a very cool casual environment that’s all about the food.

Comment: disapointing... i thought the menu would be more diverse and exotic, rather i found a regular menu with normal food, nothing exquisite about it.... it is overrated
